That is something most of us take for granted, and yet it does not apply everywhere in the world. In 1989 there were many pressing reasons for the United Nations to adopt a separate Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In war zones and conflict areas children are hardly given the opportunity, even today, of a reasonable start in life. They would be lost without our help.
The Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff UNICEF Foundation focuses on sustained education and health projects. So far five have been implemented, and a new project, to be financed by the 5th Schafhof Festival for UNICEF, is currently in preparation. This page will keep you up-to-date with developments.
