“My lovable giant doesn’t even know how big he is. Instead of showing off his outstanding basic paces, he would sometimes prefer to hide away. That’s when I have to give him the confidence he needs. But when he’s feeling great, his large movements and his unbelievable impulsion make for a fantastic ride! He is the gentle soul in our stable.”
At 18 hands, this son of Rubinstein is not just a giant in terms of size, but he also has basic paces to match. Quite often he will score a top mark of 10 for his walk and canter. When he was entered in the German Championships at the age of six, his long legs were still getting in his way a little, but just four years later he managed to show his full potential at the World Championships in Jerez, where he won gold together with his four-legged teammates. Since then he has collected more than 20 Grand Prix wins, with lifetime prize money in excess of 150,000 euros. That also makes him an assiduous high-earner for the organisation that features in his name, the Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff UNICEF Foundation.
